We’re delighted to announce that one of Prism’s Collective Funds, Help Refugees, was chosen as part of the Guardian’s annual Christmas charity appeal. Closing on the 8th of January, the appeal was The Guardian’s second most successful one yet, having raised over £1.75 million.
Along with charities Safe Passage and the Children’s Society, Help Refugees will be receiving their share of the money which has been so generously donated by over 17,500 Guardian readers. The money will go to help refugee children who are currently facing a long winter in the refugee camps, and those attempting to establish their lives in the UK.
Co-founder of Help Refugees, Josie Naughton, was quoted in the Guardian saying: “This morning thousands of refugee children woke up in tents in sub-zero temperatures across Europe. Help Refugees will ensure the generous donations from the Guardian readers go towards improving the lives of these very children.
“Throughout the entire appeal we have been overwhelmed by the generosity and support we have received and want to thank everyone who donated, as well as the Guardian and Observer.”
