15th May 2025

In our 20th year, we’re pleased to announce that we have expanded our offering to provide even more opportunities for philanthropists to give internationally.

Prism has always operated with a global mindset, with our donors supporting thousands of causes worldwide. Yet, making cross-border philanthropic transactions is complex and requires deep expertise in local legal, charity and tax rules.

In recognition of our continued growth, we have joined the Myriad Alliance, a new global network for philanthropy, and expanded our services to dual UK and US taxpayers.

The Myriad Alliance is a collaborative network of organizations with services that expand cross-border philanthropy worldwide. As part of the Alliance, Prism can now more easily facilitate cross-border grant-making and enable tax-efficient giving. Myriad will work with Prism to pool collective knowledge, expertise, and resources to give Prism donors more access to charitable programmes worldwide. The alliance also offers philanthropists in other countries who want to make donations in the UK a mechanism to do so.

Prism will join other members, including the Gift Trust, Give2Asia, Give2Asia Hong Kong, Myriad Australia, Myriad Canada, Myriad Europe, Myriad USA, and Temasek Trust Foundation Advisors. Each organisation brings regional expertise and operational infrastructure to support donors, institutions, and family offices in their international giving goals. In 2024, the Myriad Alliance collectively mobilised US$378 million to 125 countries across the globe.

Also, in response to the growing movement of American philanthropists relocating to the UK, we have launched a new Dual Qualified Structure service for UK and US taxpayers. This enables dual UK and US taxpayers to make tax-efficient gifts in both jurisdictions. According to recent data published by the Home Office, the number of Americans applying for UK citizenship in 2024 was the highest on record, marking a 26% year-on-year increase.1 This new offering has been created in partnership with international fundraising specialists Chapel & York.

CEO and Co-Founder of Prism, Anna Josse, says: “With multiple wars raging, political instability upending the markets, and the effects of climate change being acutely felt, the need for private philanthropy to fill the gap remains vital.

One outcome of the world’s challenges is the movement of the wealthy, who are migrating more than ever before. From day one, our mission at Prism the Gift Fund has been to make giving as simple as possible.

We are delighted that our new international partnership with Myriad and service for those donors paying tax in both US and UK jurisdictions will expand our reach and support our mission. These new offerings will provide greater opportunities for those who want to donate, wherever they are. As our numbers show, our donors’ appetite to positively impact the world’s most pressing challenges remains robust.”

Myriad Alliance CEO, Birger Stamperdahl says: “At a time when families and wealth are crossing borders more than ever before, we see private philanthropy rising to meet global challenges with equal reach and impact. The Myriad Alliance engages with donor communities worldwide, and its members hold a shared commitment to break down barriers of giving and unlock the full potential of philanthropy across countries and regions.

We are thrilled to welcome Prism the Gift Fund as the newest member of the alliance. We look forward to expanding support to Prism as it further enhances its work with donors seeking meaningful impact across the world.”

Prism has marked its twentieth year with a reception for over 300 people at Christie’s Auction House, held in partnership with sponsors Charles Stanley, Edmond De Rothschild, Evelyn Partners, Farrer & Co, MTG, and The Bluston Charitable Trust. LBC’s breakfast show presenter Nick Ferrari hosted the evening.

Prism’s Dual Qualified Structure is offered in partnership with the Chapel & York UK Foundation, registered charity number 1172653 | Company registered in England and Wales number 1056843.
